This release contains a fix for an issue affecting a small number of users. After this fix, users affected by this will be able to browse the app without being prompted to login numerous times.

This release fixes two critical bugs:

1. We fixed a bug in this release so your Cart won’t freeze up when you switch between apps on your iPhone
2. There was an issue that we fixed when trying to find an Amazon Locker near you. Amazon Locker provides you with a self-service delivery location to pick up and return your Amazon.com packages.

We launched a new, modern design for our ≡ menu on iPhone which simplifies the menu by grouping menu items to help you find the section you could be looking for. When you first launch the app, you can swipe the left edge of the screen to open the menu. We introduced a new settings section to include sign out, notifications, and change country. You can now access Subscribe & Save and browsing history under your account and recommendations on the homepage. We will continue to make navigation simpler and more intuitive.

In this release we also enabled support for Apple’s WKWebView, which reduces crash rates on both our iPhone and iPad apps to make your app experience better and more stable.

Have you ever wondered why so many app releases just say something like "bug fixes"? Well, let us explain.

Bug fixes may sound like the most unglamorous thing in the world. In reality, most of the work app developers do are "bug fixes." That just means that the app should run smoother, take up less space, and help you shop faster and smarter than ever. The boringness of "bug fixes" are actually foundational for an easy to use app. New features are great, but a well running app is even more important.

Each bug fixed makes for a better app on your phone. And better apps mean happier people. And happier people equals a better world. So I guess you could say that while you're going about your day today, we have developers working hard to make the world a better place, one bug at a time.

While celebrating poetry this month, we made the app run smoother and added a few new features:
• A new way to add to your list – just press & hold on items.
• In search, swipe left to add to cart and swipe right to to see related items.
• iPad customers can now initiate a product return from Your Orders.
• Southern California customers can now shop AmazonFresh groceries in the Amazon App.
