Description

Pocket Marine is an essential tool for all marine aquarists. We offer a great deal of information on a vast amount of marine fish, invertebrates and coral. We aim to help you as hobbyist, stay well informed with all the information you need to care for and successfully keep a beautiful and thriving marine aquarium at home. We have over 400 species of fish, 60 species of invertebrates and more than 40 species of coral with more being added regularly, each with a quick tips section for on the spot reference and a detailed information section to know as much as we can offer about each species.

Much more than just an encyclopedia of species, Pocket Marine offers plenty more essential tools that are almost a must have for marine aquarium keeping :-

• Encyclopedia of Marine Fish
• Encyclopedia of Invertebrates
• Encyclopedia of Coral
• Aquarium Testing Journal
• Graph plotting for your test results
• Inhabitants Journal
• Compatibility of Species
• Essential Calculators
• Water Change Log
• General Maintenance Log

Graph Analysis - From within your tank journal you can view a graph for all of your results. With a graph plotting your last 6 tests taken you can compare and see how stable your aquarium is or exactly what needs to be amended or tweaked. Stability is key when it comes to home reef aquariums and knowing how your tests measure up against one another is a vital key to successful reefing.

Tank Test Journal - Help keep track of your vital aquarium tests and when they were performed, and makes them accessible at all times. Ranging from the standard ammonia, nitrite and nitrate down to sodium, lithium or cadmium for those that prefer the in depth scientific testing, we are almost certain we have a place for all marine aquarium test results.

Inhabitants Journal - A handy way of keeping track of when and how species were on the day of purchase or before, allowing you to keep important information such as where a species was purchased, were they showing any stress signal signs, approximate size, quarantined and much more.

Species Compatibility - One of those overlooked parts of the hobby. Check here to ensure your existing species will generally be OK with that new purchase you are eyeing up.

Calculators - Bringing 4 regularly used equations at the touch of a button. Calculating things such as water volume and water weight is now easy as a touch.

Water changes Log - Often a painful process, more so for the recording of them rather than the doing them. Our water change section gives you the ability to store your water changes with all of the vital details such as amount changed, salinity before and after and even percentage of the aquariums water changed. We also have an automatic reminder for those slightly forgetful aquarists who need a nudge to remember when the next water change is due.

Maintenance - Often one of those, jot down on paper moments. Maintenance jobs such as dosing or cleaning are often one of those that need to be maintained at certain intervals. Our maintenance section logs each task performed by date so we shouldn't miss any future tasks going forward.

Pocket Marine brings you the most vital information on aquarium know how and aquarium tracking, directly in your pocket.

Version 2.4.1

Thanks for using Pocket Marine!
This update brings the following -

•Added imperial and metric to the tank volume calculator
•Added a switch to the species list to allow you to switch between viewing metric and imperial for each species, (Centimetres & Litres / Inches & Gallons) the switch is available from every species list but will hold on to the last setting you had forever, so no need to keep switching each time. We are not a fan of being forced to view one or the other for the whole app, so the choice is yours.

•You can now add a species to your inhabitants diary directly from the information page of that species - we’ll even fill in a few of the Boring details for you ;)

•Ability to add an image to your inhabitants diary, either keep our image from the details page, use your own image stored in your library or boot up the camera directly in the app to take a fresh photo of your inhabitant

•New stickies added for faster locating - clean up crew / nano species / sand sifters / algae control / aiptasia control

•Added functionality for push notifications, if you choose to allow we can notify you of any new species etc added into the app without the need for a physical update

•Added a quick look details section to the front view of your aquarium diary for a quick and easy look at your most important test results. This enables you to see your latest and most previous results on top of one another to compare the differences

Thanks again for sticking with us - Anything else you believe should be in the app, please do let us know!

Version 2.3

Thanks for using Pocket Marine!
This update brings the following -
- All new species detail page - As much as the old page worked, we needed the information to be easier to read and differentiate. Now incorporates a bullet point scheme for feeding, acclimation and key points per species.
- Removal of the novice species section - We know this was used, but we have now added an icon to every species making it clearer what is recommended to the novice aquarist or what species requires serious care.
- Tank tests - We now change the color depending on the result.....f your test result is slightly out of the recommended ranges, we color them red for easy notability. If your test result is green, your in the good zone!
- Enlarged font - Some screens were just too small for our liking, well leave the squinting for night time viewing of your aquariums!
- Added a refresh button on species listings - Making it easier to refresh the data in the list - You can still pull down to refresh the data but the button brings an alternative way to grab more data from the internet when its available
- New look inhabitants diary - We thought the data was too squashed together, the new look makes it easier to see inputted data
- Search - Searching the app is now smoother and easier - You can now search via name, Latin name, alternative names, color, common ocean habitat, diet type, maximum adult size, recommended tank size, genus, suitability, aggression and any other vital statistic we have

Our latest update brings the following -
Big Changes >
- A new Water changes section - This enables you to store all the relevant details about your latest water change, from your current salinity, to your new salinity and even a percentage calculator to let you know how much water was changed this time around. As well as storing your water changes, we have added a reminder generator directly in the app to automatically set a reminder for your next water change at a time to suit you from your last. Just because we know how forgetful us hobbyists can be with husbandry!
- Maintenance log - A simple yet helpful place to store all your maintenance notes to keep on top of what you have done each time around. If like us your forgetful when it comes to remembering the last time you dosed Calcium and how much it was, fear no more!

Version 1.3

New Species - Over 100 new species added across fish, invertebrates and coral.

Search - Added search function to each fish, invertebrates and coral that allows the user to find the species in question via almost any route, including colour, pattern or an alternative name they are commonly reffered to.

User interaction - Updated UI for easier browsing and adding of data.

Online - We have now put Pocket Marine online, although we wanted to avoid this as one of the main issues with local fish stores is cell signal, we felt we needed to bring Pocket Marine forward.
This gives us the ability to add any information as we need without needing you to update via the appstore.
But dont worry.....We are still accessable without an internet connection, any species, data viewed with a singal will store itself for viewing offline. Pull down to refresh will enable any updated information to sync itself.

Articles & Tips - This new section includes information on general good to know tips regarding our aquariums, health advice and other useful information for the hobby. Updated regularly to show new articles on refresh.

Tank Diary - Added test parameter fields, more to come for those advanced testers
