LESS TRACKING, MORE TRAVELLING

Trail Wallet is free for the first 25 items, with an In App Purchase available to unlock unlimited amounts.

**Featured in the App Store. Over 150,000 downloads!**

**Also featured in Forbes, The Telegraph, the New York Times, Lonely Planet, the LA Times, The Huffington Post, Qantas Magazine, SmarterTravel, Y Travel, The Points Guy, and Too Many Adapters.**

Trail Wallet is an easy travel expense tracker. Designed to be fast, it takes the headache out of expense tracking so you can focus on the fun.

"Trail Wallet…is the best travel-centric expense tracking app I’ve used." The Professional Hobo

"Trail Wallet is super easy to use, fast, and has a fun and beautiful interface." Too Many Adapters

BUILT BY TRAVELLERS

We are Simon Fairbairn and Erin McNeaney of Never Ending Voyage, a couple who've been travelling full time since March 2010. Managing our finances is what has enabled us to have so many wonderful experiences but, after 3 years on the road, we needed something better than scribbled notes, loose receipts, and complicated spreadsheets to track our expenses.

So we built Trail Wallet.

Nobody wants to worry about money while travelling, but we all do. Tracking your finances is a simple way to get freedom from financial anxiety.

Instead of just hoping you’ve got enough money, know.

QUICK AND SIMPLE

Road tested by tens of thousands of travellers, the app is simple, clear and easy to use.

Organise your expenses by trip or by month, set yourself a daily budget, then easily add expenses as you go. When you get a bill or receipt, launch the app, add the amount using the Quick Add screen and you’re done. Forget about it. Get on with your day.

No more collecting receipts in bags or pockets. No more sitting with a calculator trying to work out how you’re doing. No more trying to remember how much that tuk-tuk cost.

At the end of the day or week or month or trip, you can see how you’re doing. A little over budget? No problem—our app will tell you what’s eating up your cash. Under budget? Good job—send a little reassurance to your friends and family using your favourite social media platform.

Version 3.4.5

Another minor bugfix update that nevertheless manages to sneak in a few quality of life improvements:

+ You can now choose a transaction type when adding or editing amounts
+ You can then filter your amounts by these transaction types on the History screen
+ Added a setting to optionally view the History screen chronologocially (as opposed to reverse-chronologically, as it is now)
+ You can now see an instant conversion to your home currency when entering new amounts
- Fixed issues with the Belarus and Singapore currencies (thanks to the eagle-eyed Walleteers that spotted these!)
- Various other minor bug fixes

If you are having any issues with the app or if there's a feature you'd like to see, please contact me directly at simon@voyagetravelapps.com so I can help!

Thanks for using Trail Wallet!

Images that are not downloaded to your device are not avaialble for export. Trail Wallet will now warn you if you attempt to export images that are not downloaded and give you the chance to download them first.

Version 3.4.3

- Fixes an issue with the date spreader possibly not including the first date
- Fixes a startup crash issue that a small number of users were experiencing
- Updates for GDPR compliance

** 3.4 Release Notes **

I am pleased to announce: PHOTO SUPPORT!

[celebration emoji] [big smiling face emoji] [exhausted relief emoji]

- Images are attached to individual amounts (one image per amount)
- You can import images from your photo library or take new photos with the camera
- Tapping on an image on the Add Amount screen will show you a full size version
- Images are backed up to iCloud with the rest of your data
- You can export all of your images at once from the Share screen using any supported method (messages, email, AirDrop, save to library, print, etc.)
- Exported CSV files have a reference to the image filename so you can match up the photos in your spreadsheets

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!

- Tapping on a bar chart now shows you a complete summary of that day's data
- New Caledonia currency added
- Spreading amounts support has been much improved—if your trip has a fixed end date, it won't let you spread an amount past the last day
- Add Amount screen won't let you save if you haven't entered an amount (this one's for me: sometimes I get so caught up entering the metadata, I forget to add the actual amount itself)
- Drag and Drop support for reordering categories and trips (iOS 11 only)
- Tons of other bug fixes and small enhancements

Because the new photo system uses iCloud to store photos alongside your amount data. I've tried to choose a photo resolution that balances low file sizes with enough definition for you to read those receipts in the future. I'm trying not to burn through your iCloud allowance but let me know if you feel I haven't got the file size/resolution balance right!

If you are having any issues with the app or if there's a feature you'd like to see, please contact me directly at simon@voyagetravelapps.com so I can assist you.

Thanks!

# 3.2 Release Notes

Happy New Year! This update is coming at you from sunny Bali!

The backup system has been overhauled—Dropbox is gone and Trail Wallet now uses iCloud to make a daily back up of your data. If you are logged in to iCloud, you don't need to do anything (although you can switch it off if you'd like).

Trail Wallet will start syncing daily backups quietly in the background, meaning that should the worst happen, you'll be able to easily get your data back.

Please note that is not true syncing—we are still working on getting that up and running.

# Here's what else is new in this version:

* Added new introduction screens for new users to help them get set up.
* The Trip management screen has been redesigned to be quicker and easier—you can reorder and add new trips directly from the trip selection screen, and you can edit current trips by tapping the i disclosure button next to that trips.
* Month View is now no longer a separate view—it remembers what your last trip was and adds new amounts to that trip, making switching between Month and Trip views more seamless.
* Budgets are now calculated using the exchange rate recorded each day instead of the latest exchange rate.
* Lithuanian currency updated to use the Euro
* Added support for the new iPad Pro!
* Fixed issue where you might see incorrect totals when switching between currencies.
* Fixed issue where exporting CSV in Month View would miss out the Trip name
* Fixed issue where exporting CSV would shift dates around (time zones are the WORST)
* Fixed issue where popover on Graph View would appear in the wrong place
* Stopped the Summary screen from animating so much
* Fixed issue where popover would not disappear after moving amounts to a different trip
* Fixed issue where app would crash if you deleted a tag that was currently selected
* Fixed a bunch of iPad UI issues

If you have any issues with Trail Wallet, please contact me directly at simon@voyagetravelapps.com as I can't respond to reviews.

# OBLIGATORY REVIEW ASK

As always, if you like Trail Wallet and you want us to keep working on it, we need to reach more people! One of the best ways is through leaving glowing 5-star reviews on the iTunes.

Think of it as a as a secondary Feature Generating Factory (the first being, obviously, the purchase of Unlimited Amounts =) ), in which you input characters into the review form and at some unspecified future date, out comes a new version of Trail Wallet with new features and bug fixes!

Even if you never get around to leaving a review, we appreciate you taking the time to try Trail Wallet and your support of indie developers (specifically, this indie developer)!

Much love,

Simon

Much love,

Simon

Version 3.1.1

Hello Walleteers!

Quick bug fix update to hopefully fix the home currency issue that has plagued a few users. Trail Wallet automatically sets your home currency based on your region settings, but you should always be able to change it by going to Trips -> Settings -> Home Currency.

If this still isn't working for you, email us at simon@voyagetravelapps.com and we'll do our best to help!

**Important Notice (or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Beg for Reviews)**

So, as some of you probably already know, we are not a big successful company, just two people who aren't *that* great at business trying our best to make it work (I mean, the reason we made a budgeting app in the first place was because we can't be trusted with money).

If you'd like to see new features, or if Trail Wallet has helped you save money on your travels, please take a moment to leave a review on the App Store and consider purchasing the new themes.

There are a lot more things we'd like to add (syncing! detailed reporting!) but we can only do this if we can make this business sustainable (breaking even is a good month for us), and we can only do that if we continue to attract new users.

Saying lots of nice things about the app in public places* is one easy and free way for you to help keep Trail Wallet going, especially in the form of App Store reviews. I know, every app asks you for these but we're different from all those other apps because they don't have mysterious demonic forces throwing crockery and utensils at them until their review count increases.

There's some serious voodoo magic that goes into App Store listings but we do know that reviews help us get higher rankings, which help lead more people to the app, which helps increase revenue, which allows me to put fuel into my body in the form of cinnamon rolls and coffee, which I then convert via insane biological systems that I barely understand into thinking, which begets action, which produces compiled Objective C code, which is then sent out via insane digital systems that I barely understand to your phones and tablets and portable music players, which then helps you keep track of how much your spending while you enjoy our great wide world.

See how important it is?

We thank you for your support, as does our demonically possessed temporary kitchen.

If you have comments, questions, suggestions, or just want to say hi, email us at simon@voyagetravelapps.com.

Thanks and much love,

Simon and Erin

New in 3.1:

Tags! Trail Wallet has tags! Here's some cool stuff you can do with tags:

1. Entries can have an arbitrary number of tags—however many you want! (although, I haven't tested it for, like, hundreds of tags or anything so who knows what happens...)
2. On the daily history breakdown screen, you can filter by one or more tags and Trail Wallet will show you those amounts tagged with any of the tags you have selected. This works on any of the history screens, so if you view items by Category you can then filter it again by tag. So, for example, you could see all of your accommodation expenses, then see which ones are tagged "credit card". Cool, huh?

Here's some other stuff I added:

1. Adjusted budget—tap on Daily Budget on the summary screen and Trail Wallet will tell you how much you actually have to spend each day if you want to stay under budget
2. All Trip Data—you can now see all of your trip data at once on the history screen, instead of broking down by month. Great for filtering items by tag (did I mention we had tags now?)
3. I also fixed some display bugs when using larger text sizes
4. Re-introduced auto-capitalisation in the notes field
5. Increased the maximum number of days to spread amounts across from 30 to 60

Now go tag some stuff! Tag tag tag tag tag...

**A Request to Our Canadian Friends**

Right now, we're feeling the love from all over the world but, for some reason, we've been getting a bunch of negative reviews from Canada. Some of the complaints are legit and we're working to fix them but some of them are...less so.

So, if you lovely people North of the Border are enjoying The Wallet and want to chime in with some positive words to even the scales, we would be most grateful.

Version 2.1.5

Mostly I'm beginning to understand what Year Ago Me was thinking when he wrote some of this code and so now I'm able to clear up some of his more, er, creative decisions.

I hope Year From Now Me appreciates the efforts I'm making.

Aaaanyhow, this should fix that annoying bug where you can't switch currencies on the Add Amount screen.

It should also fix a nasty crashing bug that's affected a few users.

Finally, we've added some additional sorting and scrolling features to the Day History screen. It should now automatically take you to the day of the entries you're editing and it now sorts the day's entries with the most recent entry at the top.

And with that, this should mark the end of the 2.1.x releases*.

Next up, 2.2 which will actually have some New Features! Woo!

I'm not telling you what they are yet (I think they call that a "teaser"), although if you sign up to the mailing list over on the Voyage Travel Apps site, I might give you a sneak preview of some of the cool stuff coming your way in your email inboxes.

Finally, thanks so much for all of the recent reviews! You guys are totes the best Trail Walleteers a humble Indie Dev could wish for!

Much love,

Simon

There was a gnarly crashing bug if you tried to add an amount after viewing the day history screen, so I hunted that little gremlin down, encased him in carbonite, and sold him to Jabba.

Hey kids! What time is it? ASKING FOR A REVIEW TIME!

OK, so I totally recognise that, just by downloading and trying the app, you have done me a great honour. Seriously. In a world of a million apps and a bazillion distractions, you have given me a moment of your time.

That's fabulous of you.

So it's pretty audacious of me to dare ask for a moment more but I'm going to go ahead and do it anyway because you've already shown how awesome you are.

Here it is: if you like this app, please take a second and review it.

Reviews help us get found and, eventually, paid. This, in turn, keeps us fed and sheltered.

With those needs met, we can use the time we would have spent foraging for food and building houses out of leaves and sticks on other things, like making this app into the best gosh darn travel app the world has ever seen.

You get the free updates, we get to not starve. Everyone wins!

Thanks very much,

Simon

Version 2.1.2

Huge overhaul to Dropbox backups. This update fixes a number of issues with the Dropbox backup system, making it a lot more consistent and reliable.

If you're currently using the Dropbox feature, please be aware that it might take a little while for your backup list to appear in the backup screen as it has to check through all of the local and remote files first, uploading and downloading any that are missing. The faster your connection, the better.

Once it's done this the first time, subsequent uploads will be much quicker.

More updates coming very soon!

+++If you have a spare minute or two, would you mind leaving us a review for this latest version? Reviews help us get found by more people, which helps us to continue to develop the app. Thanks!+++
