About & Pics

Congratulations, you've found it -- the best NYC subway map app! Exit Strategy NYC works underground and features the official MTA subway, bus, and street maps PLUS comprehensive 'exit strategies' for each subway station that literally shave minutes off every trip.

Ever gotten off the train and realized the exit was at the FAR other end of the platform? As you make that looooong walk of shame, you're thinking 'If only I had known...I could have saved myself minutes'

Well, this app is THAT guide. Imagine pulling into your destination and stepping off the train DIRECTLY in front of the exit. You'll literally be the FIRST person out of the station every time -- and heck we even show you which side of the train the doors open on!

Detailed diagrams eliminate the guesswork from your ride, making your life easier and faster...plan where to stand and shave minutes off your trip! And this can all be yours for less than the cost of a roundtrip subway ride.

Exit Strategy NYC has gotten praise from NY Times, NY Post, NY Mag, Gizmodo, Wired and more. Try it and you'll quickly see why it's a MUST-HAVE for New Yorkers & savvy New York visitors. And now it even has integration with iTrans NYC!

With the official MTA subway map built in, there's no more unfolding those huge awkward paper maps and looking like a tourist (even if you are one!) And no more trying to read that map on the train that always has someone's head blocking it.

But wait...there's more. Know those amazing MTA neighborhood maps in each subway station? We've got 'em! We wove them together into a giant quilt-like STREET MAP! Just tap a station to see a detailed map of the surrounding area (works for all stops in Manhattan and selected outer borough neighborhoods). The map even has ADDRESS RANGES to help you figure out cross streets!

We've also included BUS MAPS for ALL FIVE boroughs to help you when the subway can't. No other app has these!

Additionally, our street maps show exactly where the ENTRANCES of each station are located at street level, getting you into and out of stations faster. Trying to figure out where the entrances to the West 4th Street station is? Just check the map! We like to call it 'Enter Strategy'.

NO PHONE SERVICE or INTERNET CONNECTION required, so you can use it on the subway! This app will quickly take a spot on your phone's home screen (and a spot in your heart). You'll wonder how you ever lived without it!

Summary of Features:
- Official MTA subway map (zoomable, scrollable and interactive!)
- Official MTA Bus Maps for all five boroughs
- Comprehensive MAP OF MANHATTAN showing address ranges and popular destinations created from the official MTA Neighborhood Maps. (Works offline when other map apps don't!)

- Diagrams include locations of exits, transfer spots, and elevators, in most cases down to the optimal DOOR!
- Diagrams show the hours for exits that close.

(Neighborhood maps include Manhattan, Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Williamsburg, Long Island City, and Jackson Heights)

(Want subway directions? The pre-installed Google 'Maps' app gives point-to-point transit subway and bus directions with schedule information too!!)

Version 2.0

We're proud to introduce Exit Strategy NYC 2.0, rebuilt from the ground up with several exciting changes:

***COMPLETE COVERAGE - Exit information is now available for EVERY subway stop in NYC.

***THE OFFICIAL SUBWAY MAP licensed from the MTA. Not only that, but we've also included BUS MAPS for all five boroughs.

***COMPLETELY NEW INTERFACE - no more scrolling through long lists of stations to find the one you want. Just tap on the station on our new interactive map to figure out your exit strategy! (The old interface is still there if you prefer it)

***ENTER STRATEGY - We've also integrated the MTA's NEIGHBORHOOD MAPS which show you the immediate surroundings of each subway station. Specifically, they show where the staircases and elevators of each station are located at street level. We're calling it 'enter strategy'.

***MANHATTAN MAP - We've gone one step further. We've taken the MTA's 22 Manhattan neighborhood maps and we've WOVEN them together into a giant QUIILT-LIKE STREET MAP of Manhattan that works entirely offline. Have an address and can't remember which block it's on? Google maps won't work because you're underground with no reception? The MTA's maps have the address numbers of each block! We've also included the neighborhood maps for a few popular outer borough neighborhoods (Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Williamsburg, Long Island City, Jackson Heights) Unfortunately due to memory constraints, we're not able to include every neighborhood in the city, although we have the immediate surroundings for all stations.

We think you'll find 2.0 to be a very impressive upgrade, and we hope you tweet, blog, and tell all your friends about it!

If you like Exit Strategy NYC please support us by adding an app store review. We'd be very appreciative and it will help us continue adding awesome new features.
