Opie is thrilled to announce PlayDates, where you can create or join small groups to play our brand new Quick Draw multiplayer drawing game! In Quick Draw speed beats skill, but will others be able to guess what your quick drawing is? Try out Quick Draw and see!

You can enter PlayDates through the new speech-bubble-with-a-heart icon on the home studio screen and from there invite anyone you follow to join you in a PlayDate.

But that’s not all, Opie has also added a new carousel to the Inspiration Gallery. Now it is even easier to discover brand new creators in the Spark community ready to inspire you!

Opie is getting ready for Lunar New Year with all new festivities and some new home studio decor! And, since we are starting a whole new lunar cycle, Opie made sure to get rid of some pesky bugs and do some tidying up. Happy Sparkling!

Opie found a pesky bug that had to be squashed - and so it is.

Opie has had his wrench out busting bugs and getting some improvements in. To help make it even easier to get those final touches into your creation, Opie has added the ability to make the eraser even smaller. Happy creating!

Introducing tracing! Now you can temporarily upload an image from your camera, photo library, or another Sparkler’s creation so you can use it to trace! But that’s not all! You’ll also be able to drop and drag the order of the layers, create perfectly straight lines, easily align your objects to certain angles, and be able to adjust just the width or height of any shape. Creating just got even easier!

Opie is excited to announce Sparkles! Sparkles can be purchased to unlock items and tools you can use for your next creation as well as show support to members of the Spark community.

See someone’s creation you love? Feeling the vibe of that Sparkler? Well, now you can Pep them! Pep is the ability for any member of the Spark community to support a verified Sparker by sending them Sparkles. Pepping is another way you can show appreciation for someone’s contribution to the creativity of the Spark community and those verified Sparkers get a share of the revenue from the Sparkles they earn!

Sparkles can be found in the new Spark store - just tap on the gift box icon on the home screen. In the store, there is tons of new content and you’ll also be able to share the love by gifting any items and tools to your friends in Spark to help them make even more fun creations!

Opie is in the Halloween spirit with all new spooky decorations on the studio home screen as well as a limited time spooky quest to unlock exclusive reward stickers and a background. Join the quest and get your Halloween-themed rewards before time runs out!

Opie is excited to be celebrating the launch of Moriah Elizabeth’s third book in her Create This Book series! Fun fact, Create This Book provided some of the original inspiration for Spark! You will be able to upload images of all your creations made in your Create This Book 3 and share them with the wider Sparkler community. Your first successful upload of a page from Create This Book 3 will also unlock an exclusive Moriah-themed sticker based on her very first completed page!

Opie has a couple of brand new features for you! Now you can see if your Spark friends and Sparklers you follow have been online recently when you are looking to invite someone to your next Creature Creator or Mish Mash creation.

Speaking of friends, when you invite your friends to create with you in Spark, and they add your Sparkler name when they set up their Spark account, you both unlock exclusive stickers you can use for your next creation. The more people you invite the more exclusive stickers you will unlock!

Ever wished you could show the Spark community how you made your creation? Us too! That is why Opie has just released a beta version of timelapse videos. Now you can record while you create and share your video with the Sparkler community, or onto any other social platforms. This is a sneak peek into an early version of the timelapse video feature so it may have a few bugs. If you have feedback, please let us know at support@playspark.art.

Opie got a few bugs out of the way to make your creating experience even better!

Opie has added the much requested ability to use layers when creating your masterpieces! You can use up to five layers to bring to life different elements of your creation independently. Opie has made it easy to add, hide, move, copy, delete, change the opacity, and lock each of the layers. You’ll find the layers icon in the bottom right corner of the main canvas toolbar.

While Opie had his wrench out, he also made improvements to the ability for you to zoom in and rotate your canvas to get those finer details in. Now you can use two fingers to zoom in anytime you don’t have a tool selected and when you want to reset your canvas simply double tap or use your trusty return icon.

Summer is here and Opie couldn’t help bring that vacation vibe to the home screen. Opie is also running a special Summer-themed quest where you can earn an exclusive background and stickers! As part of the change of seasons, Opie has put all the Spring stickers, backgrounds, and overlays on sale before he locks them in the vault - grab them while you can before they leave Spark!

But wait, there’s more. Opie has launched Spark in the UK! We’re excited to welcome our new British sparklers to our community and look forward to seeing what they create!

Last, but not least, we are expanding our recognition for sparklers who make a contribution to enhancing our Spark community. Look out for these ‘Super Sparklers’ on the home screen - their featured creations will display a blue heart sparkle icon!

Opie has been hard at work with a few improvements to Spark’s request idea feature, including being able to check out someone’s Personal Gallery directly from the idea request screen to get a good sense of their vibe when considering what idea to suggest they create next.

Opie is also starting a community appreciation program where you will see creations from sparklers who make a positive impact on the Spark community showcased on the home screen.

Opie and the Spark team are excited to bring you a brand new series of short videos sharing a few handy tips and tricks for creating in the app as well as how to use some of our newest features. Head over to the Inspiration Gallery to check out the new ‘Tips & Tricks videos’ section!

But that’s not all. Opie is leaving his heart paw prints next to the names of all his Creator friends in the Spark app. Whenever you see Opie’s heart paw print, such as next to Moriah Elizabeth’s sparkler name, you will know it is an official Creator in our Spark community.

Ever wanted to see all the creations inspired by your original creation? Us too! That is why Opie has added the ability for you to view and scroll through all the creations that have been made on top of your original design. Just tap the new view icon at the bottom right of any creation!

Have you seen Moriah Elizabeth’s latest YouTube video? If so, you know there are some new kids on the block and we are excited that they are joining Spark as well. A big welcome to Second Cousin Burp and Baby Rosie, as well as some other ME characters you know and love, all of which can be purchased and added to your ME sticker collection!

Looking for more ways to ‘spark' your creativity? Seek no further because Opie has a new feature for you! Introducing ‘Request an Idea’, the new way for you to ask the Sparkler community for ideas for your next creation. Any creation you make based on a fellow sparkler’s idea will also give them credit on your masterpiece.

Opie has partnered with Moriah Elizabeth to bring to (digital) life her Blob characters into Spark as well as something new from her latest YouTube video!

As always, Opie has also taken this opportunity to fix things under hood to make things run even more smoothly.

Opie has not one, but two, brand new ways to co-create with your fellow Sparklers!

Introducing the ‘CopyCat’ spark mode where you will be able to design your original creation on one side of the canvas and anyone in the community will be able to add their version on the other side. You’ll find ‘CopyCat’ as a rotating pentagon-shaped daily spark in the easel, and ‘CopyCat’ creations looking for your take on their original creation in the new ‘CopyCat’ carousel in the Inspiration Gallery.

Starting a creation that you would like other Sparklers to add pieces to? Then let them know by turning on the ‘add-on’ toggle in the creation settings when you save your creation. These creations will show up in their own dedicated carousel on the Inspiration Gallery so others know you are specifically looking for them to create with you!

Opie has also worked with Moriah Elizabeth to bring her adorable Sky Bears and Ice Cream Cats to Spark as new stickers that you can purchase and add to your next creation!

Opie is shedding his winter coat and welcoming in Spring! He seems to have disguised himself as a bunny and redecorated the home studio. You can also decorate your creations with the all new festive stickers, backgrounds, and overlays.

Opie has added a ‘friend’ indicator so you know when you have a two-way following relationship with another sparkler. And, in addition to the regular improvements Opie is always doing under the hood, Opie has also been lighting up creations with all new star fairy lights that you can unlock in the app!

Opie has been sprucing up a few things and making sure everything is working well under the hood.

However, that did not stop Opie from squeezing in a couple of other things… When you are co-creating with Creature Creator, and the invite for the next player expires, anyone part of that co-creation can invite someone new. Opie has also been getting ready for Spring and decorating with new flower vines, unlock yours in the app!

Opie has launched Spark in Canada! To welcome our Canadian sparklers, Opie will be running a special Canadian week-long ‘quest’ where you can earn exclusive Canadian themed stickers and backgrounds! We can’t wait to see what you create!

You asked and Opie has delivered! Opie has built a new auto-save feature so you never lose a creation again. Opie will periodically save the latest version of your creation so if you accidentally close the app or get interrupted you will be able to come back to complete it. Phew!

Opie has lots of new creation surprises to share as well. There are brand new ME character stickers as well as both new indoor and outdoor backgrounds available for everyone! And, if you have been loving Moriah Elizabeth’s latest Rainbow themed characters, look no further because Rainbow Kitten, Panda the Dog, Ninja Bear, and Ninja Cat stickers are available for you to unlock with their fun overlays!

Has Moriah left you a Pickled Pink on your creation? Well, now everyone will know you are a Pickled Pink recipient when they come to your personal gallery!

But that is not all, Opie also added the ability to create an account or login using codes in case magic links don’t work for you. And, as always, Opie has squashed lots of pesky bugs!
