About & Pics

Description

Nexar turns your phone into a smart dashcam -- for free! Drive with a peace of mind knowing you’ll have the evidence you need if something happens.

Just place your phone in a car mount with a clear view of the road ahead, and start driving. Nexar automatically starts recording and will:
* Auto-record dangerous events and collisions
* Upload these recordings to the cloud for you
* Generate free collision and speed reports

With Nexar, you also get:
* Unlimited cloud storage for recordings of dangerous events
* Access to all your events from any device
* 24/7 support -- anytime, anywhere

Nexar Automatically Detects & Records
When Nexar detects a dangerous event, it automatically records a “clip” and stores it on the unlimited Nexar cloud for you.

View your drive
Every time you finish a drive, you’ll be able to see a summary of it, including any clips that were recorded and your route.

A Seamless Experience
When you use Nexar with a compatible dash cam, you get the ultimate, seamless experience. Nexar will automatically detect when you start driving. Just get behind the wheel, place your phone in a car mount on the dashboard or windshield (with a clear view of the road ahead!), and drive. Nexar does the rest!

Nexar Protects You from Fraud
In case of a collision, Nexar uses your phone’s sensors to collect data on the crash and analyze it. Then, Nexar generates a high fidelity collision reconstruction report which includes collision dynamics, diagrams, maps, video and more. You can send this to your insurance agent as proof and prevent fraudulent claims against you.

Access Videos from Any Device
Nexar stores all of your dangerous events in your very own private account on the Nexar cloud, which you can access from dashboard.getnexar.com on any device.

Smart Settings for User Control
Nexar lets you control how much storage and data the app uses. Go to Settings page in the app to do so.

Pay Less for Insurance
If you’re a professional driver in the NYC area, driving with Nexar could save you up to 10% on your insurance premiums. Visit getnexar.com/nycpro for more information.

More Nexar Features:
* Smart storage system ensures you’ll never run out of phone memory
* Internal recording - Rideshare driver? Record inside your vehicle to deter drunk or aggressive passengers
* Easily share your videos on social media

FAQs

“Why do I have to sign up using Facebook or my phone number?”
We use Facebook or your phone number as your unique login key. That way, you can gain access to all your recordings on your private Nexar cloud account.

“How do I set up Nexar in my car?”
To work properly, you’ll need a phone mount and an in-vehicle charger. Nexar must be fixed in place for accurate sensor readings, and an in-vehicle charger will make sure Nexar is always recording. You can also connect Nexar to any Nexar-ready dashcam. Learn more at shop.getnexar.com.

“Will using Nexar drain my battery and the storage on my phone?”
Any app that uses GPS can deplete your phone battery faster, and Nexar is no different. That’s why we recommend that you keep your phone charged while using Nexar - a charged phone is a happy phone!
Because Nexar only use your cellular data to upload critical event, the app uses a small amount of your data.

“I need help using Nexar.”

You have a lot to think about when driving. We want to help cross something off your list.

In this version you’ll notice a new feature - Auto Start and Stop. Instead of remembering to turn Nexar on (and off), the app will launch on its own and and connect if you have a Nexar-ready camera installed in your car.

P.S. You can opt out from this feature at any time by going to Settings > Auto Start and Stop
