Any emails from us will always greet you personally using your title and surname and either the last 4 digits of your account number or the last part of your postcode '*** 1AB'. Any text messages we send you will come from Halifax .

Some customers have reported being unable to enter their activation code in the app after registering for Online Banking. If this happens, please complete registration on our website and return to the app to set up Mobile Banking.

You know that birthday cheque that’s gathering dust on your bedside table while you wait for a chance to visit the bank? Well, in case you missed it, you can now save on shoe leather by paying it in with the app. Go to Deposit Cheque from the menu, enter the amount, scan the cheque with your device’s camera, and we’ll do the rest.

We’ve fixed a bug that made it hard for Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ users to scan cheques. Plus a nasty one that stopped people downloading the app on Android tablets.

The app’s had an overhaul. Spoiler: it still looks similar to the old app. But because we’ve rebuilt it from scratch, we’ll be able to deliver lots of extra features in future.

It now fits whatever size screen you‘re using, including tablets. But we’re not done yet so look out for more optimisation updates.

Scroll to the bottom of your monthly transactions for a snapshot of how much is coming in and out of your current account.
For more info on your most recent card purchases or paid-in cheques just tap an item in ‘pending transactions’.
On top of all that the app’s been awarded an AA accessibility rating!
Plus, we’ve fixed some pesky bugs.

We’ve made a few tweaks so payments are easier than ever:
- Pay recipients, contacts or your own accounts from one handy list
- Get rid of recipients you don’t need
- Set up a standing order direct from a payment.
You can now call us securely from the app without the hassle of entering your details. Just tap ‘Call us’ in the menu and we’ll connect you to the right place straightaway.
Tablet users: We’ve fixed the problem that was blocking the app. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

We’ve had a technical problem rolling out the latest versions of the app on Android tablets. If you’ve already got the app installed, don’t delete it; you should be able to use it as normal soon. If you’ve deleted the app or are trying to install for the first time, we’re aiming to have a version in the app store to fix this by mid March. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused.
