We’ve redesigned how each section looks at the top, in order to match the Dropbox mobile app.
We’ve added a new set of stickers.
We fixed a couple of bugs this week:
- Docs would sometimes jump to the very top when they finished loading, even when you were supposed to land in the middle.
- Comments would occasionally be displayed incorrectly, cutting the last line in half.
Speed! Everyone loves apps that load faster when you sign in or switch accounts. We’ve spent several trillion milliseconds trying to make sure the app starts quickly.
Until recently, searching for emojis within docs was impossible. Now, when you paste emojis into the search field, you’ll get accurate results.
- Dismissing the welcome message would lead to a blank screen. Not anymore.
- In some cases, the Create Doc (“plus”) button wasn’t appearing. That’s fixed now.
These issues were cleared up in this release:
- Setting “today” as the due date on a to-do was sometimes saved as “tomorrow,” depending on your time zone.
- A copied doc link would show the wrong title in the URL.
We fixed a number of nagging problems in this week’s release:
- Starring or unstarring a doc used to leave a blank space where the notification had appeared.
- To-dos listed in the “By doc” tab sometimes displayed the doc name unnecessarily.
- There was a rogue menu button on the comment pane on comment-only docs.
- [iPad] When inviting members to a doc in landscape mode, the “Add message” header wouldn’t appear.
- [iPad] The “You’re offline” banner was positioned incorrectly.
For this release, we made a bunch of stuff better:
- No more display problems when connecting an external keyboard.
- Say goodbye to unexplained glitches when browsing through comments on images.
- Now we’ve got clearer warnings for anyone leaving a doc while their images are still being uploaded.
- We fixed a bug that was preventing offline editing.
Now, when you double-tap to edit a doc, your cursor lands just where you want it to.
We sorted out a formatting bug in the collaborator information panel on iPad. We also added more accurate screenshots to our app store listing. Enjoy the update!
- Undo your accidents: Don’t you hate it when you edit something you didn’t mean to? No need to worry. Now you can undo and redo changes using the arrow buttons at the top of your screen.
- Bugs we fixed: When you star a doc while you’re offline, it actually stays starred when you’re back online. Also, we made it possible to successfully take and insert a photo with your device while inside a doc.
Time for some spring cleaning! It’s now springtime here in San Francisco, so we decided to freshen things up and clean up some old code. The app should feel a bit more responsive now.
This week, we cleaned up some code and made performance improvements.
This release we focussed on general performance improvements, as well as internal changes to the Paper feedback system.
This release we focused on fixing a few annoying bugs:
- Reconfigured some notifications that were unreadable due to poorly formatted text.
- Fixed a condition where to-dos in some docs were incorrectly aligned.
- Hunted down a bunch of bugs related to creating folders and moving docs between them. Folders are now squared away.
- A heads-up: Dealt with an issue where people weren’t getting prompt notifications.
- There was an issue with the cursor popping up in unexpected places. We expect it will behave more predictably now.
This year, we’re resolved to fix as many bugs as we can.
- It used to be tough to re-enable notifications once they were stopped. Fixed!
- Our formatting toolbar didn’t always play nice with third-party keyboards. We made them get along.
- For some to-dos, choosing a due date was hit-or-miss. Now it’s 100% hit.
We’ve improved app startup speed. You should be able to get to your docs faster.
We’ve fixed crashes related to signing in and account switching.
Want to quickly acknowledge that you got the message? Now you can choose from a slate of 6 instant comment reactions.
Adding your Dropbox files into Paper should be easy. Now you’ll find a Dropbox icon in the keyboard menu. Tap to open Dropbox and grab the stuff you need. For many file types, a preview will appear in your doc.
As a bonus, Dropbox files that were added previously will now preview correctly.

Embed your work: If you love having Dropbox on your mobile to access all to your important stuff, you’ll really love that you can easily insert files and folders right into your docs.
We fixed some problems with the editing toolbar (on iPad), two issues relating to how comments appear, as well as some pesky crashes.
Seek and ye shall find in doc. Open the ⋯ menu, select “Find in doc,” and you’ll be able to search within an open doc.
Also, we fixed crashes related to managing accounts and pasting images into a doc.
iPad users can now drag images or text from other apps right into Paper.
Now you can view comments added to specific places on images, just like you can on the web.
Now you can paste an image from your clipboard into a doc.
Now you can print out your docs, right from your mobile device.
Now, if you’re in a thread and someone else adds a comment, it shows up in real time.
What’s new:
- You can now move images around while editing docs. Just press and hold an image, then make your move.
What’s fixed:
- You know that annoying feeling you get when you want to open a link, but there’s a comment on it? You think: “What’ll I get? The link? The comment? Who knows?” Now we give you the choice. No more guessing.
The app would crash when tapping “Manage accounts.” It crashes no longer.
Sometimes, the app said a share was successful, even though it wasn’t. Fixed!
It used to be you couldn’t see the “···” menu when replying to a comment (iPad only). Corrected!
Easier access to templates: Now your templates show up in search results and when you browse folders.
