4.9.35Sep 04, 2018

It’s been a rocky launch for the Unity version on iOS, but we hugely appreciate everyone’s feedback, reporting issues and helping us diagnose them. Now that the Unity version is live, the next few weeks and months will see a flurry of bug fixes and minor improvements, followed by some of the most awesome content we’ve ever released for TerraGenesis. We are thrilled to finally get our codebases unified so we can start rolling out some of the new content we’ve been working on, and we are so thankful for your patience while we work out the kinks in the transition.

In the meantime, here’s what’s changed in 4.9.35...

- Improved lag, especially for players with many saved games
- Fixed a bug that would prevent changes in the background, as though the game was paused when it wasn't paused
- Fixed a bug that would show minimaps (as though the colony was on the planet's surface) on the ExamineColony screen for natural satellites in the Satellites section
- Fixed a bug that would prevent the screen rotation from changing
- Fixed a bug that would show the new Pause button when taking a screenshot with the Camera button in "View Planet" mode
- Fixed a bug that would show the "Welcome Back" popup when renaming a colony
- Fixed the "blur screen of death"
- Improved Stats page scroll responsiveness
- Improved the color of biomass on Bacchus
- Increased the font size of several labels throughout the app (many more font size increases to come in future updates)
- Added tappable links to the red/blue icons on Stats Summary page
- Added sliding animation to Stats page buttons, rather than instant jump

Almost every one of those bug fixes couldn’t have been possible without the help of our players reporting issues, sharing screenshots, giving us details, and talking things through. We'd like to thank our terraformers again for being so patient with us during this time, and for being such an engaged and helpful community.

Thanks again for all your help, and as always, happy terraforming!

4.9.34Aug 28, 2018

Unity comes to iOS! After two years, we are finally bringing the Unity version of the game to iPhones and iPads and unifying our codebase once and for all. This will allow us to fix bugs and add new features much more rapidly, and will make sure that none of our platforms fall behind the others. There are already several new features in this version that players have been asking for, such as the ability to switch directly between colonies without returning to the Planet screen. We can’t wait to share some of the things we’ve been working on, so stay tuned!

It’s a brand new app, but we’ve tried to recreate it in exact detail, so nothing should be too surprising. That being said, there may be minor changes to the layout or design as we transition from iOS to Unity code. Hopefully they’ll all be for the better, and we’ll be refining and improving them in future updates, but if you do encounter a bug please help us out by reporting it at EdgeworksEntertainment.UserEcho.com

We’ve got a ton of exciting stuff we can’t wait to share with you, and bringing Unity to iOS is just the first step. So stay tuned, thanks for your help, and as always, happy terraforming!

4.9.33Jul 16, 2018

Someone on the internet mentioned mozzarella sticks, and now I can’t think about anything else.

4.9.29Jul 02, 2018

This update fixes a flaw in the new JSON saving system that was impacting our oldest players, and helps lay the groundwork for the switch to Unity on iOS!

4.9.26Jun 19, 2018

Do not try and read the update notes. That’s impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth: there are no update notes. Then you’ll see that it is not the app that is updated, it is only yourself.

4.9.22Jun 07, 2018

This update also contains a number of small bug fixes and new additions, many of which were suggested by the players:
- Fixed an issue that would cause the Welcome Back popup to underestimate the credits gained while the user was away
- Improved analytics in preparation for moving the Unity app onto iOS
- Various minor bug fixes and performance improvements

4.9.19May 17, 2018

This update lays the groundwork for a major shift in our game-saving system, coming in the next update. No action is needed from you, except simply opening each of your games in this latest version of the app. This will happen naturally as you play, but if you have any old saved games you haven't opened in a while, be sure to open them for a few seconds after downloading this update so they're prepped for the switch. Otherwise, it's business as usual!

This update also contains a number of small bug fixes and new additions, many of which were suggested by the players:

4.9.10Dec 19, 2017

¡Hola! Olá! Здравствуйте! salut! Ciao!

It's been a long and eagerly-anticipated reveal, so I am happy to finally announce that today, TerraGenesis is DOUBLING the number of languages available in-game. That's right: in addition to English, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and German, today we are adding French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and the language of the very first pioneers of space, Russian! If you want to use these languages (or if you don't want to use them but they're showing up anyway), just go to Settings > General > Language & Region on your device, and from there you can edit the list with a single tap.

We are very excited to welcome our new players from Europe, Asia, Central and South America, Africa, and everywhere else that these languages are spoken. By my math, these five languages combined have over 1 Billion native speakers, and I absolutely cannot wait to see how they like TerraGenesis!

As usual, this update also contains a number of small bug fixes and new additions, many of which were suggested by the players:
- Added a Share button to the FromOrbit screen, so you can share beautiful new images of your worlds from any angle and at any time of day
- Fixed a bug related to the selected mining resource when switching games (thanks, Andrew!)

- Added "Connect" section to Main Menu: engage with other players and the developer across your favorite platforms, and discover other TerraGenesis-related content!

2.0Aug 11, 2016

Welcome to TerraGenesis 2.0! This is BY FAR our biggest release since the game launched almost exactly a month ago. We've got TONS of new features, but I'll outline the biggest here:

- SATELLITES: Build colonies on the moon (or moons!) orbiting your planet, and construct massive engineering projects in space to confer enormous late-game bonuses for your world.
- BOREAS: A new planet to colonize, Boreas is a frigid ice world. You'll need to melt the world-spanning ice caps to begin creating oceans and seeding the planet with life. Plus, it's free for players who bought all of the previous planets! (If you bought all and it doesn't show up, tap the gear in the corner and choose Restore Purchases.)
- PAUSE MODE: Perhaps our most-requested feature, now you can pause the game when you know you won't be able to play for a while!
- REWARDED VIDEOS: Watch a short ad to get free Genesis Points.
- YEARS: Track how long your civilization has taken to develop, as the years tick by on your brand new world.

And of course, this update also contains numerous changes and bug fixes suggested by the players, including...
- Bug fixes and performance improvements, especially for the iPhone 6 Plus.
- Improved rendering speed on planets with a large number of city lights.
- Better explanation of the requirements for Independence.
- Better explanation of how to revive an abandoned colony.
- Better explanation of how maintenance costs can lead to negative profits.
- Added a popup on launch to let you know how much money you've been making since you last played.
- Renamed several facilities, to make room for new satellite functionality. (Facility effects are unchanged.)
- Fixed a bug where a flooded aquifer would render a game on the Moon unplayable.
- Fixed a bug where infinite facilities could be built in an abandoned colony.
- Added an option to disable the button beeps.
- Increased the movement speed of the scanner during mine placement.
- Added the ability to demolish outposts.
- Reduced the frequency of Earthquake events.
- Level 9.0 earthquakes no longer remove the colony from the map entirely.
- Fixed a bug where the list of colonies would go off-screen when sharing screenshots.
- Improved calculations for rendering ice/ocean ratios on cold worlds.

1.9Jul 29, 2016

I'm glad to announce a new feature that I'm particularly proud of: "View from Orbit". Now, you can check out the day/night cycle of any colony or outpost from orbit, watching the clouds drift by and the stars wheel overhead. A big thank you goes out to Jeremy, Jamie, Luke, Robbie, Marvin, and several other users who messaged me through Facebook and email, sent screenshots, answered questions, and helped me sort out the particularly tricky "Under Construction" bug. There's a great community growing around this app, and I couldn't be more thankful!

This update contains several changes and bug fixes suggested by the players, including...
- Fixed the so-called "Under Construction" bug. All such facilities will be automatically removed, and none should reappear.
- Optimized planet textures, for easier rendering and to address memory crashes.
- Fixed doubled popups for completing construction and/or research.
- Fixed empty icons on some popup windows.
- Reduced the frequency of the "research overloaded" random event.
- Altered the "research overloaded" event to automatically restart the chosen research, so the time is lost but you don't have to re-spend credits to get it going again.
- Altered the "facility crushed" event on high-pressure worlds to downgrade facilities, rather than destroying them immediately.
- Significantly reduced the filesize of the app's initial download.
- Numerous other bug fixes and performance improvements.
