- Bug fixes

Dec 19
Version 1.9

We’re excited to bring you Geo Touch 1.9, with usability improvements and increased stability on iOS9.1. Here are the highlights, starting with new content:

+ European Capitals
+ Flags of Asia
+ Flags of Africa
+ Spanish for Kids Preview

Spanish for Kids is one of ten new language learning apps that combine the same proven learning methods of Geo Touch with beautiful artist-drawn scenes to teach Spanish, French, German, Chinese and English.

Have you been frustrated by getting set back a few steps when you miss an answer in practice mode? Now you can choose for each incorrect answer whether to go back a few questions, to the start of the level, or not at all. (You’ll find this under Settings.)

As requested by parents of young users, the start screen now shows icons as well as words, so beginning readers can more easily play independently. We’ve also darkened the borders between states and countries so these are easier to discern, another popular request.

We make this app for you, so please let us know what you think! Write to us at appfeedback@clever-dragons.com and please be sure to leave us a review in the App Store too!

Version 1.8

We’re proudly waving the flag over here to herald the arrival of three new flag maps in Geo Touch:

+ Flags of Europe (included for free)
+ Flags of North and South America (in-app purchase)
+ US State Flags (in-app purchase)

Also new: the China map, in which you can learn all the provinces of China!

Consider yourself a Geo Touch master? Prove it. We’ve added thirty-two Game Center achievements for you to earn — wishing you the very best of luck!

We’ve also changed up the game play a little to ensure deep learning for our most experienced users. Now, the order changes when you play a map a second time. Memorized which states we ask in which order? Time to put back on your thinking cap.

With each release, we continue to improve usability and address problems we find or that you tell us about (so please do keep the suggestions coming in: appfeedback@clever-dragons.com). Fixes and enhancement in this update include:

+ Missing the last state or country in a map no longer sets you back to the beginning of the level (sorry, we know this was a bit harsh) but instead sets you just a little ways back, according to how many states or countries appear in that level.

+ Maps now show percentage complete.

+ Double tap any map to zoom in.

+ iPad users: want to silence the background music? Sound controls now appear right on the main screen.

Jan 12
Version 1.7

This is a bugfix release, in which we've squished the following issue:

- Certain users reported seeing less than the total amount of states or countries in a map's last level. Thank you for reporting this — fixed now!

- iOS7 users: you can now come and go from the Settings view as expected.

- This version also includes other small improvements, such as the correct spelling of Tunisia in the Africa map (whoops).

Thank you to those who take the time to write in with suggestions, questions, or bug reports. Your communication helps us to make a better app! Email us at appfeedback@clever-dragons.com to let us know what you'd like to see next in Geo Touch.

Dec 16
Version 1.6

+ Squish! That bug where you couldn't replay a map again right after your finished it? We fixed that. (Thank you to those who wrote in promptly — your communication makes this a better product for everyone!)

+ Want to start over from the very beginning? You can now reset all saved game progress in Settings. (This is especially handy if you're passing the app on to another learner in your family.)

+ The map selection screen loads faster now, so less time to wait and more time to learn!

+ Wait, what did she just say? We noticed this too — the reading of state, city, and country names on iOS8 went really fast. We've slowed this down from espresso to americano in this version.

What else can we do to make this app even more useful? Please email us at appfeedback@clever-dragons.com to let us know.

Dec 02
Version 1.5

At last, the major update we've all been waiting for ... thank you so much for your patience! Here's what's included:

+ Squish! We fixed a big bug in this version. If you purchased All Maps and then experienced difficulties, first: we are really sorry about that and second: thanks to those who let us know; that’s fixed in this release.

+ Geo Touch also uses memory more intelligently now, something those with older devices will notice through improved performance.

+ Game progress is now saved, so if you didn't finish a map, you can start right where you left off.

+ Want to skip right to the end of a map and test yourself on all the states, capitals, or countries? Now, a long press on the Next arrow does just that. (Thanks to the user who mailed in this suggestion!)

+ Did you have trouble dragging states or countries in an earlier release? We’ve added an offset that makes this a bit easier for those with bigger fingers.

+ Working with our bonus US Landmarks map and having trouble remembering what goes where? We’ve added state names to the Reading to help audio learners. Also, the White House is back where it should be (embarrassing bug fix, don't ask).

+ Hawaiian users: the pronunciation of Waipio Valley should now sound a bit more correct. (Perhaps we should travel there to check this in person!)

+ Chinese and German users: OK, we know you know this already, but it’s so cool we wanted to share it with everyone: localized versions of Geo Touch are now available in Simplified Chinese and German!

What else can we do to make this app even more useful? Please email us at appfeedback@clever-dragons.com to let us know.

Sep 17
Version 1.4

Jul 24
Version 1.3

+ Morocco: thank you to those who took the time to write in about this. It’s back where it should be now. Keep the comments coming in and we’ll keep the fixes coming out.
+ Scrolling: the map now patiently stays put while you puzzle out where a state or country belongs (unless you ask it do to otherwise by moving the state or country to the map’s edge).
+ And more! Look around for user interface improvements throughout the app and stay tuned for more maps and more features in an upcoming release!
